While in Mexico, I blogged constantly. And added several hundred pictures to flickr. As soon as I got home, it was as if the world of blogging disappeared…
I’m not really sure why that is, since I have had plently of time in which to write and there have been numerous occasions when I’ve had something to write about. For some reason I just couldn’t get myself to do it.
So here’s a tiny update:
I have finally posted my two laptops for sale on the UChicago marketplace. I’ve been meaning to do it since this summer, but decided to wait until I got back from Mexico since I figured it would take a while (perhaps years) to get the things sold. They should have been posted right when I got back, but somehow I couldn’t get myself to do it.
On a similar note, I am left with tons of science textbooks that I no longer have a use for, many of which are now outdated and so cannot be sold to new students. What am I supposed to do with those things? I need to see if the bookstore will buy back discontinued or old editions of books, even if they just give me crap for them (better than nothing). The alternative, I suppose, is to keep them. Some of them would make good references, but is it likely that I’ll ever use them in that way? Only time will tell…
The only reason that this stuff is pressing is that I’ll only be living here in Chicago for another two months, and then I’m moving out for good. I guess I could always start donating the books to some cause. Or hold onto them for use teaching science in the Peace Corps. Actually, that’s not a bad idea at all!
I’ll provide a more interesting update in a bit, since I just have another 15 minutes before I need to go back to TAing.
