My Peace Corps recruiter nominated me on Monday and said that it would take one to three weeks for the central office to get the medical packet out to me. Well, turns out they mailed it the next day!
I don’t have it yet, but this seems to bode well for getting this process done in a very timely fashion. Perhaps I’ll even know exactly where I’m going by the end of the summer! That’s probably too much to hope for.
It’s all quite exciting, but now I’ll have to deal with the hassle of making medical, dental, and eye appointments. Since I’m no longer a student there is no way I can do that through the SCC, and doing it through the megahospital of the UofC will likely be an unpleasant experience. Maybe I should try to get home for a day in the next few weeks and have everything scheduled with all my old medical people, one after the other.
