purpose

This site has several purposes. The primary one is to be a world-wide accessible location that people can use to find me.

The second is to fling some knowledge into cyberspace for others to use and for myself to refer back to. I loathe to not understand how something works, and so I have spent much time trying to figure things out. I love technology, and have spent (wasted?) huge amounts of time trying to make my operating systems, web browsers, and other software do what I want. I hope that I can get readers to the end point of a problem without them having to go through the same trial-and-error effort.

I’ve also got a huge ego and love to talk/rant/explain. Since my end-goal in life is to be a Scientist and to spend a lot of my time teaching/explaining/ranting, my third purpose is to use this platform to practice the complicated task of science communication.

The last purpose  is to practice my writing in general and to share what is going on in my life with friends and fam. This means that some (or perhaps many (or perhaps all)) of my posts will be uninteresting to the stranger(the noun, not the comparative)-reader.

Because some of these pieces of knowledge might be dangerous (likely just to your computer, but possibly to your very corporeal existence as well), I would like to point you over to my Disclaimer. Please read it before you try anything. You shouldn’t even click the link to get to the Disclaimer without reading it first (Try it!).

And remember, thoughts and beliefs can also be dangerous, so be careful when even thinking about what you read here.
